Seabob Warranty Repairs

Your Seabob warranty is active for 24 months from the day of the purchase. Make sure you’ve got an invoice from the supplier stating the S/N of the Seabob.

Warranty FAQ

The warranty period is 2 years, beginning with the date of transfer.
Costs incurred in connection with warranty work for transportation of the purchased object to and from the site shall be borne by the purchaser.
– Natural wear
– Damage due to improper handling, including storage
– An exceptional form of use, which is contrary to the normal use of the item
– Repair, maintenance and care at a facility not authorised by the factory to carry out support
– Installation of parts whose use has not been approved by the factory
– Failure to observe regulations and operations manuals concerning operation, maintenance and care of the item
The defective item must be kept available for examination by the factory in the state which it was at the time the defect was detected. Violation of the obligations listed above voids any warranty claims. If Seabob is opened by unauthorised entity, the warranty is terminated.
The warranty period is 1 year, beginning with the date of install.

Seabob Repairs

If your Seabob was damaged and you do not have a valid Warranty, you’ll be charged for the repairs. Your cost will include the Wet/Dry Lock fee + Repair fee as per the fee list below.

What are the repair costs?

Seabob Wet Lock fee is charged with repair fees for:

– Exchanging Seabob electronics
– Exchanging Seabob control grip
– Exchanging Seabob display
– Exchanging Seabob display
– Exchanging Seabob induction sensor
– Exchanging Seabob battery
– Exchanging Seabob hull
– Exchanging Seabob depth sensor
– Exchanging Seabob E-Box.

 

The Wet Lock fee in amount of 252,00 € ex. VAT will apply for every out-of-warranty repair case, that requires full unit disassembly and safety tests.

It includes:

– Seabob Initial diagnosis by USB interface incl. report in pdf format.
– Visual Hull, buttons, display and grill inspection.
– System parameters check and software update initiation.
– Aligning and setting engine parameters.
– Checking charging module.
– Standard unit disassembly.
– Standard unit re-assembly.
– Overpressure leak test (30 min duration).
– Final system report.
– Clean & Polish

Seabob Dry Lock fee is charged with repair fees for:

– Exchanging Seabob impeller
– Exchanging Seabob bumper

The Dry Lock fee in amount of 168,00 € ex. VAT will apply for every out-of-warranty repair case that includes basic unit disassembly to replace necessary parts.

It includes:

– Aligning and setting engine parameters.

Maintenance FAQ

POST RIDE:
– Check to see if any water has leaked into the charging port. If so, check the cause of the leak which may include: broken seal, cap was damaged or screwed with insufficient torque.
– Rinse the inside thoroughly with clean fresh water, after every use. Directing the water hose to all the openings, on the bow, sides and below the Seabob.
– Ensure a steady stream of fresh water is applied directly into the trigger. While doing so press and de-press the trigger numerous times to loosen any sand, grit, debris that may affect its performance.
– Wash the body with warm soapy water and dry before storage.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE:
– Keep your Seabob battery level in healthy 50% range.
– Clean your Seabob  thoroughly with fresh soapy water to remove any built-up salt or sand.
– Make sure that all contacts on the charging points are dry and clean.
– Send your Seabob to your authorised service centre for regular maintenance and check.
The Seabob is mostly used on the sea surface and if it is driven under water, it would be for a short period of time and in many cases not deeper than 2,5m.
Because of that driving regime, the seals are exposed to very little pressure variation. As a consequence they do not expand and contract. They become stiff and give in.
Cold temperatures during winter off-season months only makes the contraction worse and decreases the flexibility to the sealing material.
As a preventive maintenance we suggest to exchange O-rings & locking rings, replace any worn components, apply lubrication, remove traces of salt & corrosion, execute a safety test and look for any potential leaks and issues.
Seabob can only be serviced  by qualified Seabob technician who can properly assess Seabob condition and take all safety precautions.

Refurbishment FAQ

In most of the cases, we can weld and patch cracks with great results.
Seabob hull is not waterproof and is flooded when submerged in the water. If the hull is cracked, in most of the cases, the Seabob is safe for usage. We still recommend that the Seabob gets checked by authorised person.
You can choose between original colour or any other to your liking.
Do you want to match the Seabob with your hull? No problem. We only need your hull number and the Seabob will look the same.

Seabob Winter Storage FAQ

You should check and if necessary charge your Seabob every month.
Storing your Seabob with 50% charge will provide the best conditions for battery life-span.
Once the Seabob batteries are fully charged, it will stop charging.
Although it will not phisically damage the Seabob, we recommend that you disconnect the charger when storing for longer periods.
 
Seabob is using lithium batteries which give the best life span results, if they are stored with 50% charge.
– For longer storage period, use transport/storage mode, to ensure better battery management and longer life span.
 
– Check the batteries health & status at least once per month.
 
– Store your Seabob in dry area, away from flammable objects and surfaces.
 
– It is recommended to  winterise your Seabob before storage. This will prevent internal parts deterioration and failures.
No. You can safely charge the Seabob regardless of the battery level state.
No. Seabob engine is not affected by long-term storage.
– Exit the transport mode.
 
– Leave your Seabob to charge at least 24 hours, to allow battery cells to balance.
 
– Perform test drive.
