Description
RAMBSS safety box for monitored storage and charging
RAMBSS—the Raclan Maritime Battery Safety System—is a modular safety box for charging and storing lithium-ion water-toy batteries on board. It combines monitoring with automatic response, so the cabinet does more than simply contain a battery.
Ocean Premium is an official distributor of the RAMBSS safety box range. We supply RAMBSS 500, 750 and 1500 and help yacht teams select the suitable module for their batteries, available space and onboard requirements.
During normal use, the unit monitors internal conditions while batteries are stored or charged. If temperatures rise to a dangerous level, the system can stop charging, sound an alarm and initiate its integrated cooling and fire response. Gas filtration is part of the enclosure design. These functions help manage a battery incident at its source, while the yacht’s own fire-safety arrangements remain essential.
Choose your RAMBSS safety box size
Every yacht’s toy list is different. The 500, 750 and 1500 share a 600 × 600 mm footprint, with increasing height for different battery and equipment needs. Confirm internal clearances, battery capacity and charging arrangements against the current technical drawing before ordering.
RAMBSS 500
A compact option for removable eFoil and other smaller water-toy battery packs. Ask us to check the exact packs and chargers you plan to store.
RAMBSS 750
Extra interior height for larger packs or multiple-battery arrangements, where the battery dimensions and total permitted capacity allow.
RAMBSS 1500
The tall module for larger equipment, including suitable Seabobs with integrated batteries. We check the exact model and handling space before specifying it.
Monitoring, warning and response in one system
- Temperature monitoring Sensors watch for abnormal heat during storage and charging.
- Automatic charger shutdown Charging can stop when the system detects excessive temperature.
- Cooling and fire response Integrated TRIDENT® coolant and a vessel freshwater connection form the system’s staged response.
- Gas filtration Filtered ventilation is designed to reduce hazardous gases produced by a battery incident.
- Local alarms and status Crew can see status at the unit and receive an audible warning.
- Bridge integration available The unit can be connected to the yacht’s alarm and monitoring system for direct onboard alerts.
Bridge connection is yacht-specific. If specified, the alarm contact must be wired and tested by the yacht’s qualified electrician or integrator. The right arrangement depends on the vessel, flag, class, insurer and installation plan.
Official approval for the RAMBSS safety box
RAMBSS has official Lloyd’s Register Type Approval. RACLAN describes it as the first lithium-ion battery storage and charging safety system of its kind to receive this approval. As an official RAMBSS distributor, Ocean Premium can confirm the current lead time, technical documents and the configuration suitable for your yacht.
Approval of a product does not automatically approve every installation. Module placement, ventilation, freshwater supply, electrical connection, alarm testing and the yacht’s wider fire-safety arrangements must be reviewed for the actual vessel.
Planning a new build or refit? Send us the battery list, toy models, garage dimensions and any requirements from the yard, flag, class or insurer. We can help select a module and coordinate the questions needed before installation.
Tell us what your vessel needs
Choosing the right battery safety system depends on more than cabinet size. Send us your toy and battery list, available space, flag, tonnage, class, commercial status and insurer requirements. We’ll help compare suitable RAMBSS modules, plan bridge alerts where needed and identify the questions to resolve with your yard or surveyor.
Our guidance helps you plan a safer, compliant installation. Final acceptance rests with the relevant flag administration, classification society and insurer.

RAMBSS safety box questions from yacht teams
Is RAMBSS available now?
The range is commercially offered. Ask Ocean Premium for current availability, lead time and a yacht-specific quotation.
Which size fits my eFoil or Seabob?
That depends on the exact toy, battery dimensions, charger, number of packs and intended storage arrangement. Send us the models and quantities so we can check the current module drawings and permitted capacity.
Can the bridge receive an alarm?
Yes, onboard alarm-system integration can be specified. It needs appropriate wiring and testing by the yacht’s electrical team, with the installation reviewed against vessel-specific requirements.
